Recently I made a conscious decision to be happy and celebrate life. Feeling sexy, comfortable and free in the life that I lead. Of course, life has its ups and downs and it may be tiring to be positive every time because of the never-ending hits life throws at you. However, perception is everything, and how you perceive the negative is key, it forces you out of the ‘bad mood’, and gives you a completely different perspective on life.
Why wait for a better time to live your life? Change your narrative and live your best life - today!
Life gives us tough situations so we can learn and improve from them. It helps us learn and deal with new and upcoming struggles.
Adhering to this mindset takes great determination and work, so to help me stick to this new regime, I carry out daily, weekly tasks which keep me in check and keep this mindset firmly to help me stay mentally sane, positive, happy and sexy each day.
Here are some tips that has largely helped to significantly improve my mental health, hope they can help you too:
Selfcare Tips:
1. Music
Music is my ideal escape, it centres it all for me, helps dissolve my down emotions, balance my mind and enables me to escape from chaos temporarily. Allowing me to have freedom and even get me moving in some way, helping me to escape my busy mind and find peace.
2. A relaxing bath or shower (which ever I fancy at the time)
Baths/Showers are a great example of ‘physical escape’, it can be an hour or a couple of mins in the bath/shower, but it’s the physical act of washing off all your worries. To make your showers more relaxing, try adding a eucalyptus plant under the shower head, the steam will help power the scent of the plant which will emit a refreshing and soothing scent, which is scientifically proven to improve your mood and sleep better as it opens up your airways. For baths and showers, curate a playlist to sing away the blues or relax in the tub. Baths are also a good way to catch up on any shows or films you’ve missed, no interruptions, just you and your Netflix! You can also add stress relief bath gel and bath bombs to your bath, to give you that extra pamper and selfcare. Most importantly find products and elements that comfort you and give you the ‘me time’ you crave!
3. Selfcare/Bodycare
Another form of a self-care routine is a grooming routine. For example, adding a scrub before you shave or using a moisturising cream, can make you feel exponentially great and clean! You can also incorporate a semi massage whilst moisturising, to further relax and soothe yourself. Pair it with some music and enjoy another form of pamper and self-care!.
4. Use of organic products
Intentional use of organic, clean and safe products, like using organic products during menstruation, can make you feel clean and confident with no irritations, which can eventually help reduce anxiety that comes with menstruation.
5. Shapewear
Clothes definitely can get rid of your mental blues, having the right outfit on can instantly lift your mood and get you out of any funk. But what goes under your perfect outfit matters too, hence investing in the right shapewear and tights etc, can help perfectly piece your outfit and make you feel good, while you look good!
Your selfcare does not have to be complicated, it can be carefully chosen small acts to help make you feel more like yourself. When you follow this regime regularly, it will give you peace of mind, routine you need and it will improve your mental health.
As you find little ways and routines to make quality time for yourself, this will eventually lead you to become the best version of yourself and for those you care about!
Stay strong, Stay Positive!
Tomorrow is a new day.
